Non-discrimination and 第九条 Notice

Rhode Island College does not discriminate on the basis of sex in the education program or activity that it operates, and is required by 第九条 of the Education Amendments of 1972 not to discriminate in such a manner. The requirement not to discriminate in the education program or activity extends to admission and employment. Inquiries about the application of title IX to Rhode Island College may be referred to the 第九条协调员 or to the Office for Civil Rights, 或两个.

It is the policy of Rhode Island College to prohibit discrimination on the basis of sex in the education program or activity it operates pursuant to 第九条 of the Education Amendments of 1972. The 第九条 Sexual Harassment Policy and Procedures provide for the prompt and equitable resolution of student and employee complaints alleging any action that would be prohibited by 第九条, as well as a grievance process that complies with the 第九条法规 as they pertain to formal complaints. The 第九条 Sexual Harassment Policy and Procedures describe the College's procedures, including how to report or file a complaint of sex discrimination, how to report or file a formal complaint of sexual harassment, and how the College will respond.

Complaints that do not meet the definition of Sexual Harassment under 第九条 are investigated and adjudicated in accordance with the Council for Postsecondary Education Nondiscrimination Policy and Complaint Procedures under 反歧视行动 通过 Office of Institutional Equity.

美国.S. Department of Education Final Rule under 第九条 of the Education Amendments of 1972, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in education programs or activities receiving federal financial assistance, became affective on August 14, 2020. The Final Rule can be viewed 在这里.

Any Rhode Island College ("the College") employee (including administrators, 教职员工), student or volunteer affiliated with the College who suspects child abuse or neglect, 包括性虐待, must immediately report the suspected abuse or neglect to Campus Police at 401-456-8888. Campus Police will immediately report the abuse to the Department of Children, 青少年及家庭, as applicable; and the Department of Children, 青少年及家庭 will investigate immediately.
